Individual art therapy

The experience of making art with others is a powerful process. As humans, we are relational beings who seek connection and belonging, and each art therapy group creates its own unique “ecosystem.” The role of the art therapist is not to interpret the group dynamics but to highlight the interactions happening in the moment and emphasize the creative process. This allows group members to observe and find their own meanings.

At times, members are invited to share their feelings and insights with the group, helping everyone feel seen and accepted. Occasionally, the experience may evoke difficult memories or emotions, providing an opportunity for members to reframe harmful or outdated beliefs and gain new insights.

Witnessing others express vulnerability and authenticity can have a powerful ripple effect, encouraging others to do the same. This is what can flourish within an art therapy group.

If you have a group that would benefit from a therapeutic system in place for their well-being, please call Nazia Wasif for further discussion. I would be more than happy to explore the possibilities with you and tailor a program to address your specific needs.
